Key Course Spotlight

Improving Instruction: Students will study a wide spectrum of techniques and strategies to improve classroom instruction and enhance learning. Emphasis will be on practical classroom applications.

Curriculum Theory & Development: Principles of curriculum construction, which underlie the reorganization of the program of studies for elementary and secondary schools, sources of the curriculum, methods of organization, structure of knowledge, and curriculum planning and development.

Inclusionary Classroom Practices: Students will receive guidance in supporting the disabled student in a general education classroom and in supporting the special education teacher and ancillary staff in providing instruction for the disabled child. We will explore methods for facilitating the acceptance and learning of the disabled student in the context of a general education environment.

What Students Are Saying

“One aspect of your program that I find a plus over traditional classes is that if you don’t get part of a lecture, you can just go back and watch it again. That would be impossible in a traditional classroom. This is so important, especially if you have kids. What if one of them is sick and you have to miss class? With your program, you NEVER have to miss class! I think this will be so much better than going to a traditional class. Plus, I can ‘do school’ and not take any time away from my kids. For me, a single parent of four, that is critical. Your program has so many great benefits!”
