Like a traditional MBA program, Principles of Business creates a solid foundation by familiarizing you with the dialects used in different areas of the organization. You’ll acquire a working knowledge of organizational behavior and communications, accounting, economics, globalization and more – enabling you to understand various aspects of the business and strategize with individuals across different departments and levels of the company.

As the course progresses, you’ll develop a holistic view of operations, finance, marketing, enterprise valuation and other critical disciplines. This expansive new outlook will help you see how your business decisions impact the overall organization.

During this course, you will learn how to:

  • Analyze investment value and determine capital budgeting
  • Assess the risk/return tradeoffs associated with leverage

In Applied Business Strategies, the third and final course in Notre Dame’s Executive Certificate in Business Administration program, you’ll learn how to bridge the gap between strategy and execution by way of competitive analysis, strategic planning and examining your company’s weaknesses and strengths from multiple perspectives.

As you progress through the course, you’ll acquire a suite of versatile tools that will help you identify, choose and implement business strategies that address individual, functional and organizational goals. You’ll also master the foundational knowledge required to successfully develop and implement an effective business plan – one that capitalizes on cross-departmental synergies and aligns with organizational goals.

During this course, you will learn how to:

  • Gain and sustain a competitive advantage
