Bachelor of Arts Applied Psychology Human Factors
Are you curious about the relationship between people, machines and their environments? The study of human factors psychology examines the social, physical and cognitive properties characteristic to humans and how to best apply that knowledge to the design of equipment, systems and working methods. Florida Tech’s Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Human Factors is structured from a broad-based liberal arts curriculum to career-specific courses on applied psychology with an emphasis on improving product design.

Applied Psychology (PSY 3013)
Examines the various major concepts of applied psychology. Includes theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, historical trends, principles and practices as they apply to personal, social and organizational issues.
Human Cognition: Theory and Application (PSY 3522)
Reviews models, processes and research in information processing; attention, short- and long-term memory, memory codes, visualization and imagery; forgetting, semantic organization, problem solving, decision-making, language, multilingualism, music cognition and cognitive development.
Survey of Industrial/Organizational Psychology (PSY 3542)
Surveys the application of psychological principles and methods to work. Includes employee selection, motivation, performance and behavior; the structure and function of occupational positions and activities; and the nature, processes and development of organizations.
Human Factors (PSY 4101)
Examines key concepts, applications, theoretical perspectives and empirical findings of engineering psychology across various applied settings where humans and machines interact.
