Applied Psychology Forensic Psychology

Are you interested in where and how psychology and our legal processes intersect? Consider Florida Tech's Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology. Built on a liberal arts foundation, this degree program examines the fundamental concepts, principles and practices of applied psychology. Particular emphasis is placed on the nature of how forensic psychology coincides with law enforcement and our legal system.

Some of the courses that make up this degree program include: Applied Psychology, Law and Psychology, Integrated Theories of Crime and Courtroom Psychology. These courses, along with courses in PC applications, writing, mathematics and science, round out a broad-based learning experience designed to help you succeed now and in the future.

Applied Psychology (PSY 3013)
Examines the various major concepts of applied psychology. Includes theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, historical trends, principles and practices as they apply to personal, social and organizational issues.

Law and Psychology (PSY 3100)
Introduces the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, historical trends, principles and practices of various areas of psychology and explores their intersection with the law.

Integrated Theories of Crime (PSF 3551)
Explores the basic questions concerning human nature, human behavior, crime and criminality from the perspectives of sociological, psychological and criminological theories.

Courtroom Psychology (PSF 4107)
Uses psychological processes and concepts to investigate components of the American legal system. Discusses decision processes of police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, judges and juries. Also covers courtroom procedures, rules of evidence and relevant research.
