As new businesses emerge and financial laws change, demand for accounting professionals is expected to continue to grow. If you’re good with numbers and enjoy working with people, this degree is the one for you. Florida Tech’s Bachelor’s degree in Accounting prepares you for a career in financial, managerial and cost accounting, tax planning and auditing. This degree also establishes a strong foundation for becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Some of the courses that make up this degree program include: Cost Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Individual Federal Income Taxes and Corporate Federal Income Taxes. These courses, along with courses in PC applications, writing, mathematics and science, round out a broad-based learning experience designed to help you succeed now and in the future.

Cost Accounting (EAC 3331)
Studies relevant costs for managerial decision-making. Includes cost accounting fundamentals used in managerial control functions.

Advanced Accounting (EAC 4401)
Covers accounting principles for partnerships, mergers, acquisitions and consolidations. Includes the worksheet analysis of consolidation principles and introduces international accounting and fund accounting.

Individual Federal Income Taxes (EAC 4421)
Introduces federal taxes, emphasizing individual taxation. Includes the concepts of business income in various forms of business, the practical application of tax laws including tax return preparation, and simple tax research. Also introduces the various taxes beyond federal taxes.

Corporate Federal Income Taxes (EAC 4422)
Includes corporate taxation and the transfer of assets from one form of entity into a corporation. Covers allowable corporate expenses and deductions applicable to corporations. Also includes trust and estate tax, forming and running Subchapter S corporations, and computer-generated partnership tax returns.
