You can earn your BSN degree in 15 months with Jacksonville
University's Online RN-to-BSN Degree Program.

Eleven (11) course program
* Eight (8) weeks per session
* Total of 33 credit hours
RNs
can enroll in the JU Online RN-to-BSN Degree Program
at any time and may begin their studies at six
(6) convenient times during the year. Upon successful
completion of the (33) required credit hours,
you will receive your BSN degree. Your degree
is exactly the same as those earned by on-campus
students.
The
Online RN-to-BSN Degree Program is structured
so that one course builds upon the mastery of
other courses and emphasizes the integration of
course material to ensure a cohesive coordinated
learning experience.
Curriculum
Overview
Nursing students take courses in human anatomy
and physiology, microbiology, general psychology,
human growth and development, in addition to core
curriculum requirements required by the University.
Additionally, nursing students take 68 credit
hours of nursing courses.
Overall Requirements
- Admission
to JU and the School of Nursing
- Graduation
from a state approved and/or diploma-nursing
program.
- A
GPA of 2.5 or better.
- An
active Registered Nurse license with no restrictions
or probationary status.
- Completion
of a minimum 28 semester hours of non-nursing
required courses.

Transfer
Students
Jacksonville University encourages
applications from students who have attended regionally
accredited colleges and universities. Each year,
approximately one-third of the entering class is
composed of transfer students. To be considered for
admission as a transfer student, the student must have
completed the equivalent of at least one semester of
academic work following graduation from high school.
Students who are concurrently enrolled in high school
and college are not considered to be transfer
students.

Jacksonville
University Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
program is accredited by the following accrediting
agencies:
1.
American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).
The AACN is the national voice for university
and four-year college education programs in nursing.
2.
The National League for Nursing. The National
League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
is responsible for the specialized accreditation
of nursing education schools and programs, both
post-secondary and higher degree. NLNAC is a nationally
recognized specialized accrediting agency for
all types of nursing programs.
3.
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(CCNE) is officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary
of Education as a national accrediting agency.
Jacksonville University's RN-to-BSN holds preliminary
approval by the CCNE.
4.
The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools to award degrees (SACS).
Academic
Preparation
Admission to the School of Nursing is a selective
process. Students apply to the School of Nursing
and also must gain admission to JU. Applicants
are required to complete 28 credits of courses
toward the nursing major with a 2.5 cumulative
GPA. The following courses must be completed prior
to admission to the School of Nursing: anatomy
& physiology, 7 credit hours; chemistry (with
lab), 4 credit hours; English (must be equivalent
to EH 111-112 offered at JU), 6 credit hours.
Candidates for admission to the School of Nursing
also must hold Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
certification, submit required health and immunization
documentation, submit three letters of recommendation,
and schedule and complete an interview with the
Nursing Admissions Committee.
